Our Story

For over a century, the Shigawake Fair has been a beloved tradition in the Baie-des-Chaleurs region. Over the last 17 years, the Music Festival has grown alongside it, turning the event into a celebration of sound, culture, and connection that draws thousands of people every year.

Here, 130+ musicians take the stage, families create memories, and communities come together to share their stories through music, food, and tradition. The fair remains at the heart of it all showcasing local farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs while the festival adds a vibrant layer of energy and creativity.

This is a non-profit event run by volunteers who believe in the power of music and community to bring people together. Our mission is to celebrate local talent and create a space where everyone feels at home.

At the Shigawake Music Festival, you will find live music from emerging artists and seasoned performers, open mic nights where anyone can share their voice, family-friendly activities that keep the fun going for all ages, local food, crafts, and agricultural exhibits, and a welcoming vibe that embraces the diversity of our region.

The Shigawake Fair & Music Festival is about impact. We support local artists by paying musicians and performers, giving them a platform to shine. Additionally, we boost the local economy, with nearly 70% of our spending staying right here in the Baie-des-Chaleurs, supporting businesses, farmers, and artisans. We build community; from volunteers to visitors, we’re all part of something bigger. By keeping traditions alive, whether through music, agriculture, or cultural programming, we’re preserving the heritage of our region.
